It started with a love for the outdoors and a need for a quality gear shop in town. In March 2012, Al Tandy built and curated a quaint shop to fit the community needs. As the excitement grew, so did we. 

In 2016 our location moved to 240 Commercial Street, a bigger space to house all the gear and enthusiasm. We are still in downtown Salem and growing our community every single day. 

Customer service is our number one priority and in order to provide the level of service we can be proud of, our staff members are required to be expertly trained in product knowledge so they can properly answer all of your questions. Salem Summit staff members have been through extensive training both in-house and by manufacturer representatives so that they are brimming with product knowledge, brand information and other helpful tips and tricks.
