You’re Invited!

Who: All of our Salem Summit friends young and old that are dedicated to playing outside and making Salem awesome!

What: Salem Summit Trail Seekers is a seven month long scavenger hunt with awesome prizes ranging from cool stickers to camping and hiking necessities.

When: The first Saturday of every month beginning March 5th and ending September 3rd.  Times to be announced on facebook in the week leading up to the event.

Where: Awesome outdoor destinations within an hour and forty five minutes driving distance from Salem.

Why: Here in the Willamette Valley we are lucky enough to have endless adventures at our fingertips. Whether you prefer coastal hikes, waterfalls, or hiking in the Cascades, Salem serves as a central hub for all of our recreational pursuits. The Salem Summit wants to challenge you to get outside and explore all that beautiful Oregon has to offer, and what better way to do that than a seven month long scavenger hunt with fun prizes!

The first Saturday of each month we will choose a hike that may or may not be familiar to you.  Salem Summit staff will be found somewhere on that trail during a designated time, and if you find us, a special prize from our backpack is your reward!  During the week leading up to that Saturday, we will post riddles and clues on facebook as to where the location will be. Some spots will be close to home, some a little further but nothing over an hour and forty five minutes. We hope to encourage everyone to get outside, learn about new places and have fun!

Things to know: Trail head location and descriptions of the trails selected can all be found in Bill Sullivan’s 100 Hikes” series of trail guides.   We will always be on an established trail, in clear view and never hidden.  You will spot us by our Salem Summit T-shirts and comfy chairs – we won’t be moving around we will remain in one spot.  If the trail is a loop, be sure to search the entire trail.
