Join us for an informative presentation on how to stay safe during backcountry snow travel. Whether you are an occasional snowshoer or an aspiring backcountry skier, this class will give you great tools for planning trips and making decisions when you’re outside. Bruce Moffatt, an experienced backcountry skier and ski guide, will share his expert knowledge and tips on how to make sure you stay safe during your winter outings!
Bruce has been backcountry skiing since 1972. He has worked as a backcountry ski guide in New Zealand, and also has history as a certified alpine instructor, cross country certified instructor, coach, and examiner. He has also taught numerous telemark clinics in the the Northwest, New Hampshire and New Zealand!
The goal of Know Before You Go is not to make you a snow scientist or avalanche expert. We want to increase your knowledge so you can make better decisions in the backcountry.
Stop in and add some important tools to your outdoor skill set. The snow is falling in the Cascades and it’s good to be educated on what to know before you go.
As always, this is a totally free event!
